About
Michael has worked at the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE) in South Africa since 1996. As Head of Education and Media and Publishing, Michael has developed, managed and facilitated the delivery of many diabetes courses to health professionals and people with diabetes and participated in the clinical aspects of the administration of over 200 CDE Centres of Diabetes Excellence nationally.
Michael’s work passions are person-centred diabetes care, preventative health care, reflective practice, health care professional education, mentoring and coaching, change management and written and visual communication.
Michael is also the Editor of the CDE Community Journal Diabetes Lifestyle, Sub-Editor of the healthcare professional journal South African Journal of Diabetes and he has Recognised Teacher Status with the University of South Wales, Wales for their Postgraduate Diploma and MSc Degree in Diabetes.
