About

Dr. Barber is an Associate Professor and Consultant Endocrinologist at the University of Warwick and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW). Dr. Barber’s research focuses on obesity, diabetes, and metabolism, including a background in the genetic and metabolic features of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, that led to the award of a DPhil from the University of Oxford, and the prestigious ‘Society for Endocrinology Clinical Prize Lecture’ and ‘University of Oxford Medical Sciences Divisional Research Prize’ in 2009. Dr. Barber has published 144 papers in leading peer-reviewed journals (H-index 37). He presents regularly as an invited speaker at scientific meetings both nationally and internationally and engages regularly with national media. As Clinical Lead for the Obesity service at UHCW, Dr. Barber combines clinical duties with clinical and translational research.
