Robert McCarthy
Associate Director Long term Conditions
NHS South East London ICB

About

Robert McCarthy is Associate Director for Long-Term Conditions (LTC) Management & Improvement at the NHS South East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB). In this role, he leads the system’s strategy for people with multiple long-term health conditions, overseeing initiatives such as the “Multi-Morbidity Model of Care” across south-east London.

McCarthy works closely with borough and neighbourhood teams across the SEL region—spanning six London boroughs—and acts as a convenor of multi-disciplinary commissioning and provider networks to support coordinated, preventative care.

Prior to his current emphasis on LTC transformation, his experience lies in commissioning, system improvement and integrated care innovation within the NHS. With a strong focus on tackling health inequalities and designing care models that respond to the needs of diverse urban populations, his leadership contributes to the Board’s goal of delivering responsive, community-based care in South East London.
