About

Professor Felicia Anumah obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the College of Medicine, University of Sokoto, and is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Internal Medicine (Endocrinology Subspecialty) (FMCP).

She is a Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at the University of Abuja, Director of its Centre for Diabetes Studies. She is also, among other things, Member of the Technical Working Group for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Nigeria, Consultant to WHO in diabetes. She is the President of the Diabetic Foot Nigeria Initiative, Fellow of the Medical College of Physicians of Nigeria (FMCP), Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), Editor in Chief of the African Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the author of six books on diabetes. 

She received a training on professional coaching and mentorship of general practitioners (GPs) to be able to achieve good glycaemic control in Type 2 diabetes patients in Africa, by Novo Nordisk in Nairobi Kenya, and attended the Higher Degree Research Students’ Supervision Course. Organized by Institute of Infectious Disease of Poverty (IIDP) School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University, Malaysia in collaboration with Modibbo Adamawa University of Technology Yola, Nigeria. In 2011, she worked at the Dept. of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University and Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria. Dr. Anumah is a member of the Nigerian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (NSEM), Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN).
