Michael A. Olamoyegun is a Physician, Endocrinologist, Epidemiologist & Pharmacologist who is currently a university lecturer and a consultant physician/endocrinologist & diabetologist where he is currently the head, Department of Medicine at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) & LAUTECH Teaching Hospital (LTH) both in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is a visiting research Fellow at Hasso Platnner Institut (Digital Health), University of Potsdam, Germany.

Dr Olamoyegun has a wide array of experience in the management of diabetes in private, secondary & tertiary health institutions of more than 10 years where I manage people with diabetes with various complications. I have also worked at Shell Petroleum Development Company, Port Harcout, Nigeria as a Consultant Physician/endocrinologist for more than 2 years.

He is presently holding these positions;

  • Founder & Coordinator, South West Diabetes Investigation Research Group (SWeDiG): the largest diabetes research group in Nigeria comprises of 9 endocrinologists located in almost all the states in South West, Nigeria.
  • Founder, mDiabetes Nigeria: pioneering introduction of Telemedicine to the management of diabetes in Nigeria
  • Pioneering Virtual Diabetes Clinic in Nigeria: this will enable diabetes to be managed remotely 24 hours a day.
  • Have close to 60 scientific publications in reputable national & international journals
