GUESTS: DOUGLAS TWENEFOUR & DR DANIEL KATAMBO

Is it possible to put your Type 2 diabetes into remission? Is remission the same as a cure? How is remission achieved? Sign up for our FREE online event where our expert guests will answer all of your important questions on Type 2 diabetes remission.

Joining Dr Joan St John are our two experienced experts, Douglas Twenefour, Specialist Diabetes and Obesity Dietitian with over 15 years of clinical experience and Dr Daniel Katambo Kiningu, Consultant Physician and Founder and CEO of Afyaplanet LTD, a health tech company committed to creating awareness on the importance of Therapeutic Nutrition in management of NCDs, especially in the reversal of Type 2 diabetes.

Although remission may not be possible for everyone, it’s about more than just stabilising your blood sugars, it’s about reducing the risk of Type 2 diabetes-related complications, and making small changes to your lifestyle which can result in a healthier way of living.

Diabetes Africa events offer high-value content for specialists and a wider audience interested in diabetes care, at a time when face-to-face interactions are more difficult. Our events bring together healthcare professionals, business executives, national and international decision-makers and experts, to discuss innovation and good practices. Our events help address healthcare challenges where it matters most.

In 2020, our events covered topics such as: the impact of COVID-19 on routine diabetes care, telemedicine, podiatry, data gathering and community support. Subjects are inspired by the activities in Diabetes Africa’s chambers and faculties and reviewed on a regular basis, with input from members and partners.

Supported by Novo Nordisk, we hosted a series of events in June 2021 to explore and discuss clinical practice and research on diabetes and people of African and Caribbean origin. Organised in partnership with our UK Expert Network.

The discussion session is interactive and includes regular polls and Q&A, which give participants an opportunity to share their own experience.
