Menopause and diabetes (Part 2)

Diabetes Health Matters with Dr Joan St John

17/03/2026, 18:30 GMT (UK)

In this episode

Menopause matters in diabetes care. But knowing the signs is just the beginning.

In Part 1 of the ‘Menopause and diabetes’ series, we explored how hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can influence insulin resistance, glucose levels, sleep, mood and weight. For women living with diabetes, these shifts can make day-to-day management more challenging and are not always fully recognised in routine care.

In this episode, we focus on action, and how to best navigate living with diabetes and perimenopause/menopause.

In this Diabetes Health Matters event, Dr Joan St John is joined again by Dr Itunu Johnson-Sogbetun, GP with a specialist interest in women’s health and menopause care, and Dr Aziza Sesay, GP, educator, Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and founder of Talks with Dr Sesay. Together, they explore practical ways to support health during menopause while living with diabetes.

Whether you are living with diabetes, supporting someone who is, or working in healthcare, this webinar will offer practical insights to help women feel more confident navigating menopause while managing their diabetes.
