During the event, our expert authors answered questions surrounding the creation, content, and resources within the ‘diabetes footcare in dark skin tones’ handbook.

This handbook has been designed to provide essential information as well as quick tips to healthcare professionals to improve foot care for people with dark skin living with diabetes.

Featuring clinical assessments and visual/audio guides, this handbook is the product of a unique collaboration across healthcare professional specialties, and with input from people living with diabetes.

Consultant Diabetologist and General Medicine, King’s College Hospital NHS Trust Foundation, UK

Chris has been a Consultant Diabetologist at King’s since 2016. But even while undertaking his specialist training, he has been involved in several service improvement projects within the South East London (SEL) area, as well as setting up new foot care pathways.

Dr Bernadette Adeyileka-Tracz (MPharm, PhD, PGCert) is a registered pharmacist with a PhD in molecular biology and bioinformatics, and is an Executive MBA candidate. Bernadette 10 years of experience across multiple sectors and industries, including medical affairs management roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Bernadette is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Diabetes Africa.
