Diabetes: protect your eyes!
Event overview
Join our free virtual event where eye specialists and people of Black, African and African Caribbean heritage living with diabetes share real talk about protecting your vision. We’ll tackle questions that matter to you: “How does high blood sugar damage eyes when there are no symptoms?” “How do I discuss this with my family and community? “Can I still enjoy the foods I love?” “What eye changes need immediate medical attention?”
People of Black, African and African Caribbean heritage face higher risks of diabetes-related eye problems, but knowledge is power. Get practical advice on navigating NHS screenings, understanding treatment options, and managing work and family life while protecting your sight.
Bring your questions – our experts are ready to provide answers that respect your cultural perspective and lived experience. Organised by Diabetes Africa – Fighting diabetes and its complications with African and Caribbean communities.
