Diabetes and Women’s Sexual Health

Diabetes Health Matters with Dr Joan St John

In this episode

Diabetes affects millions of women worldwide, but why is there a stigma around diabetes and its impact on important aspects such as women’s health and sexual health?

Joining Dr Joan St John in this event is Dr Isioma Okolo, who is an obstetrics and gynaecology doctor (ST7) committed to eradicating health inequities experienced by racially minoritised women whilst advancing the well-being of women and girls globally. As a physician, surgeon, researcher, advocate, and writer, she is interested in developing creative and co-designed solutions to health inequalities between and within countries.

Women living with diabetes can face all sorts of challenges when it comes to their health but this doesn’t have to be the case. Dr Okolo will outline ways to help look after your emotional well-being and provide tangible information and advice on sexual health, fertility, PCOS, menopause, body image, and so much more.

Whether you’re a man or woman, healthcare professional or person living with diabetes this event is for everyone, although the focus is on diabetes and women’s health Dr Okolo will be the first to tell you that everyone can learn something from this event.
