Blood glucose monitoring

Diabetes Health Matters with Dr Joan St John

In this episode

Are we doing it right? At the right time? With the right focus? What do the numbers mean? And how can we make it a more effective part of diabetes health?

Blood glucose monitoring is an essential part of living with diabetes. Fitting it into a busy, stressful lifestyle can sometimes stir feelings of anxiety and helplessness. And reading these emotions can be as important as interpreting the readings. Which is why effective blood glucose monitoring is part and parcel of a trusted, well-functioning relationship between people living with diabetes and their care givers.

In this special episode of Diabetes Health Matters, Dr Joan St John will be joined by Grace Vanterpool MBE, Consultant Nurse in Diabetes, and Prof. Gideon Mlawa, Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology, to cover the basics of blood glucose monitoring and explore the less talked-about issues surrounding this routine practice.
